Following the retirement of Prof Dietmar Rößl in October 2024, Florentine Maier was appointed head of the Research Institute for Cooperation and Cooperatives (RICC) at WU Vienna (Vienna University of Economics and Business). Her current research focuses on cooperatives and non-profit organisations as part of the Civic Life of Cities Lab. This WU Vienna research project examines the contribution of civil society organisations to society in and around cities.
The United Nations has declared this year the International Year of Cooperatives for the second time since 2012. Cooperatives all over the world will be celebrating this occasion. A major event will also be held in Austria in Q4. These events are intended to promote the strengths of the cooperative model for success and provide new impulses for social entrepreneurship.
On 15 November 2024, the International Institute for Alpine Cooperative Research held its 26th annual conference in Innsbruck.
On 10 November 2023, the International Institute for Alpine Cooperative Research held its 25th annual conference in Bolzano, South Tyrol.
